Reflection

1.  What did you learn in detail in term 2?

In this term, we learn about DNA, protein synthesis, and body system.

In DNA, we learned about Punnett square,  pedigree, and meiosis. In Punnett square we learned about how to predict a couple's children. We were taught how to make Punnett square for only one type of phenotype (2x2) and Punnett square with two different type of phenotypes . We learned in pedigree that we can see a person's genotype by observing their family. For example, if we see a mom or a dad who's either a carrier or normal have an infected child, we can be sure that the dad and the mother is a carrier. In meiosis, we learned how gamete chromosomes  duplicate itself for reproduction. We learned of the steps that it goes through, compared it with mitosis, why it's needed, and the illness that happens when it fails.

In protein synthesis, we learned about what happens during protein synthesis, the duplication of DNA. We learned how to transcript DNA messages, DNA to RNA to mRNA.

In body system , we learned about all of the 11 humans body system and how it works in a summarized explanation. Out of the 11, we focuses with 4, which are immune system, endocrine system, circulatory, and nervous system. We learned about their functions, how they work, and their components in detail.

2.  What was the most interesting thing that you learned in term 2?

To me the most refreshing topic is the punnett square. I think it's the most interesting because punnett square is the only topic that doesn't require us too memorize about things. I think it was really refreshing learning about something like that in biology class.
3. What was hard about the topic that you learned in term 2?

I think the hardest topic for me is the body system. I'm able to understand the body system on how it works, but not in detail. I think that I wasn't able to memorize much of their system.
4.  What could you have done better in term 2?

I think I should've asked the teacher more about the things I don't understand, rather than trying to force myself to understand since doing that takes a lot of time.
